JPMorgan Chase announced today that Leslie Gillin will be succeeding Kristin Lemkau as CMO, with responsibility for JPMorgan, Chase and corporate brands, effective today.
Gillin joined Chase three years ago to lead the bank’s co-brand credit card business. Prior to that, she served as CMO for Citi’s Global Consumer Bank where she oversaw business growth in 18 countries.
Her work with the co-brand card portfolio led to “strong growth in revenue, outstandings and new cardmembers,” said co-president and COO Gordon Smith in a statement. “I’m confident that her knowledge, energy and creativity will now serve the whole firm and all our customers very well.”
She takes over for Lemkau, who was promoted in mid-December to CEO of Chase’s new U.S. wealth management division. In 2016, Lemkau was recognized as part of the Adweek 50 for her work as CMO.
Gillin has “deep P&L and marketing experience, and is a highly respected people leader,” Lemkau said in a statement. “I’m excited to keep working with her in my new job to help grow the Wealth Management business. I know she will crush this job.”
Before Chase, Gillin worked in product and business development for 25 years with Bank of America and MBNA in addition to Citi, with assignments in the U.K. and Canada.
