Twitter Adds Emoji Reactions to Direct Messages

People can opt to undo a reaction at any time

Twitter added emoji reactions to direct messages on its platform, across iOS, Android and the web.

The social network revealed the new feature in a Twitter Support tweet, which contained a link to instructions for using it.

Users can either hover over a DM and click the reaction button, or double-tap on the DM and choose an emoji from the pop-up menu that appears.

Clicking or tapping on the reaction will reveal who was behind it, and all participants in a DM conversation will be notified when a new reaction is added.

People can opt to undo a reaction at any time, and it will be removed from the DM.

Developer and blogger Jane Manchun Wong spotted DM reactions in testing last August.
