Trolls World Tour—which was originally intended for theatrical release by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures before the coronavirus pandemic hit—will be released on-demand via streaming platforms in the U.S. Friday, April 10.
Pandora teamed up with Xfinity on custom character mixtapes for each Troll, capturing the “distinct style and personality” of their characters.
The family-friendly playlists are accessible via voice commands for Xfinity subscribers, as well as directly via Pandora. They are:

- Poppy’s Mixtape (pop music)
- Queen Barb’s Mixtape (rock)
- Tiny Diamond’s Mixtape (hip hop)
- Branch’s Mixtape (edgy pop)
Spotify and Universal Pictures teamed up on a similar initiative that works via the streaming platform’s Harmonizer digital experience.
The campaign incudes audio ads voiced by stars Justin Timberlake (Branch) and Anna Kendrick (Queen Poppy), and the two stars also produced video content to encourage fans to create personalized playlists on Spotify.
Spotify said Harmonizer will let fans turn up the volume dial for each character representing a different musical genre—country, funk, pop, rock and techno—generating a personalized playlist for each user.
